Our Curation & Evaluation Methodology

At Bangkok to Komodo, the word “curated” is not a marketing buzzword; it is the result of a rigorous, data-driven, and hands-on evaluation methodology. Our clients trust us to select only the safest, most reliable, and most luxurious travel partners in a complex operational environment. This page provides a transparent overview of the precise criteria we use to vet every aircraft operator, phinisi liveaboard, and ground partner in our exclusive network.

Our proprietary evaluation system is built on four pillars: Safety & Compliance, Operational Excellence, Service & Hospitality, and Sustainability & Ethics. Each potential partner is audited and scored against these pillars before they can be considered for inclusion in a client’s itinerary.

Part 1: Private Jet & Aircraft Operator Evaluation

We only work with operators holding a valid Indonesian Air Operator Certificate (AOC 135) and who can demonstrate a flawless safety record. Our vetting process goes deeper, using a 100-point scoring system:

A. Safety & Maintenance (45 points)

  • Certifications & Audits (15 pts): Valid AOC, ICAO compliance, recent independent safety audit (e.g., ARGUS, Wyvern) records.
  • Maintenance Program (15 pts): Adherence to manufacturer’s maintenance schedule, proactive parts replacement, cleanliness and organization of maintenance logs.
  • Crew Qualifications (15 pts): Captain and First Officer total flight hours, minimum 1,000 hours on aircraft type (e.g., Cessna Citation, Embraer Phenom), biannual simulator training records, no-incident/accident history.

B. Aircraft Condition & Amenities (30 points)

  • Age & Refurbishment (10 pts): Aircraft less than 10 years old or with a full interior/exterior refurbishment within the last 3 years.
  • Cabin Comfort & Technology (10 pts): Quality of seating, cabin noise levels, functional and modern cabin management system, reliable in-flight Wi-Fi.
  • Cleanliness & Presentation (10 pts): Impeccable interior and exterior cleanliness, stocked amenities, crew presentation.

C. Operational Reliability (25 points)

  • On-Time Performance (15 pts): Verifiable on-time departure record of over 98%.
  • Logistical Support (10 pts): Experienced dispatch team, established relationships with ground handlers (FBOs) at both Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and Komodo (LBJ) airports, robust contingency planning.

A potential aviation partner must score a minimum of 90/100 to be included in our preferred network. Our aviation experts, featured on our team page, conduct this analysis.

Part 2: Phinisi Liveaboard & Marine Operator Evaluation
